Biography

Biomedical Engineering graduate (Highest Honors) and Full-Time Senior Business Analyst at FTI Consulting. His career began as a Research Assistant at Emory University School of Medicine, focusing on enhancing therapeutic strategies for musculoskeletal diseases. Mateo later interned at the Mayo Clinic, where he contributed to the development of an implantable device, LifeSTEM, for treating brain tumors, earning him the Best Overall Project in Biomedical Engineering award at the 2023 Georgia Tech Capstone Design Expo.

In addition to his research, Mateo is an entrepreneur - founding AceTutoring Atlanta, a low-cost online tutoring service specializing in STEM subjects and ACT/SAT prep for students with learning differences. The service quickly expanded under his leadership, achieving a 100% retention rate and 660% growth in five months.
